Columbus Half Marathon
Thank you for visiting my fundraising page!
So, here's the deal... I am not a runner. I "ran" cross country in high school, and I was lousy at it. I'm slow, and always have been. And now, unlike high school, I'm much older, overweight, and fairly not in shape. So, yes I am a bit insane to undertake a half marathon. Thirteen miles is a long way. Although, I haven't completely lost mind. I am not going to attempt to run all 13 miles. I'm lucky to run 1 mile. I'm doing a run/walk combination for both training and the race day. My goal is to be able to run 5 mins/walk 1 min over the 13 miles on race day.
I'm almost as bad of a salesman as I am a runner. I felt guilty asking people to buy Girl Scout Cookies when I was a kid. But here's the deal: this is for a good cause! And it's a good cause that means something to me (the niece of one of my best friends has Propionic Acidemia). That being said, I am now making my sales pitch. Please sponsor me! I don't expect a lot. Any amount would be great! Even if you can only spare 5 bucks, I will be very thankful. And, it's tax deductable! So, you can help a good cause and get something in return. And if tax incentives aren't enough, you get the joy of thinking about me trying to complete the training and race day for a half marathon... that alone ought to be worth something! :-)
Donating through this website is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to support my fundraising efforts. You can also make a donation by check, made out to Propionic Acidemia Foundation. If you get the check to me, I can get it sent in. My page will be here until December, you can go to www.pafoundation.com, or you can still do a check after that date.
Many thanks for your support -- and don't forget to forward this to anyone who you think might want to donate too!
