Health care is in crisis in Colorado.  Nearly 18 percent of residents are uninsured and an equal number are underinsured.  Nearly 180,000 children lack coverage.  Without access to primary and mental health care, members of this population tend to suffer from preventable disorders and advanced conditions that require more serious, and more expensive, medical attention.  Patients without insurance are sicker, die sooner, and pay as much as 2.5 times more for medical services.  Doctors Care stands up as an intervention point to break this troubling cycle.
