I'm running the Pittsburgh Marathon on May 6, 2012, as part of a relay team. This is a quite a step up from the weekly runs at cross-country practice... I know. So why am I doing this?
I am supporting the World Affairs Council of Pittsburgh. This organization brings global education programs into classrooms throughout the region. The best part: I get to help with this effort in a small way as I work with the Council.
The Council provides more than 100 programs that reach 12,500 students and teachers, helping them acquire the tools to understand a world changing substantially faster than textbooks and other materials at their disposal. These programs include visits to schools by experts and policy practitioners, briefings on topical issues, after-school seminars, day-long workshops for teachers and students, and intensive week-long summer institutes.
Donations in any amount are much appreciated.
Donating through this website is simple, fast, and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to support my fundraising efforts.
Thank you for your support. Please forward this to anyone you think might want to donate, too!
