Buddy Walk 2011 - Team Torino - Strides for Steve Timmermann
Team Torino—Strides for Steve Timmermann
Thank you for visiting my fundraising page for the Community Link Buddy Walk 2011!
Most people who know me know my wonderful brother Steve who has Down Syndrome. He's that handsome guy in the picture standing next to my mom. They participated in the Buddy Walk together last year.
Steve is 52-years-old....the oldest sibling in the family. He is the light of our lives - always wearing a smile. He is a HUGE Cardinal fan (as you can tell by his sweatshirt). He also likes to root for the Detroit Tigers - given the fact that his uncle Tom Timmermann played for them.
Steve is involved in the community and participates throughout the year to raise money for Down Syndrome and for the mentally challenged in general. Every year he dresses up as Mr. Tootsie Roll to raise money for the Knights of Columbus, which he has been a member for many, many years
He also has been a leader in preparing for past Buddy Walks. Click here to read a full-page article that was published in the Breese Journal 2 years ago. It features Steve understanding the value of walking and giving back to the community. Matter of fact, he has been doing a lot of walking. Since April 2008, Steve has lost about 85 pounds!
We have truly been blessed to be a part of Steve's family. He shows us true happiness; gives us unconditional love; and bestows upon us the importance of giving.
Will you please donate to our team? Donating through this website is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to support my fundraising efforts.
Many thanks for your support -- and don't forget to forward this to anyone who you think might want to donate too! If you have any questions, please email me at cdeiters@ILparks.org.
