Dear Family and Friends,
We are running the Boston Marathon on April 16, 2012, in support of the Melanoma Foundation of New England as members of their Running for Cover Boston Team. We are running in memory of our brother and uncle, Mickey Miller who fought an incredibly brave battle with melanoma eleven years ago. We are also running in memory of Scott Wills, a good friend who recently lost his battle with melanoma. We can't think of a better way to honor their spirit and strong will than by supporting such a great organization.
This will be Mary's 1st marathon, and Dick's 17th, and we are honored and excited to be part of this year's Running for Cover Team. Mary attends Boston University, and we frequently meet for Sunday morning runs along the Charles River. Last year, Mary trained alongside Dick for the 2011 Boston Marathon. This year, she plans to complete the race with him for this worthy cause.
The Melanoma Foundation of New England is a non-profit organization dedicated to educating the public about the importance of early detection and prevention, and helping patients and their caregivers cope with melanoma. Our goal is to help spread the importance of early detection. We urge all of you to schedule regular skin checks by a dermatologist especially if you a have a family history of skin cancer like we do.
We would be grateful if you would consider supporting us in our goal of raising $8,000 for MFNE. Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to make a contribution to our team's fundraising efforts. Many thanks for your support -- and don't forget to forward this to anyone who you think might want to donate too!
We can't wait to start training together. We will keep you updated on our fundraising and training progress all the way to race day!
Thank you for your support!
Dick and Mary
