On Sunday, September 25, 2011, the Eunice Kennedy Shriver Center's TEAM SHRIVER will participate in the Walk to Cure Cancer at UMass Medical School for the 5th consecutive year.  To date, our modestly-sized department has raised just under $30,000 thanks to the infinite generosity of our staff, administration, friends, and relatives. 

The five-mile walk around Worcester's Lake Quinsigamond raises funds to benefit cancer research, care, equipment, facilities and staffing the UMass Medicine Cancer Center of Excellence with world-renowned medical professionals. Now in its 13th year, over 60,000 walkers have participated in the event and have raised over $6 million.  In just 4 years time, Team Shriver has contributed .5% (a half of a percent) of this grand total!
