For the fifth time in six years I'll be going into cold water in the winter, but it's for a good cause! CCAN is a very important group, and I hope people who are reading this will be generous with your support of it via supporting my entry into the Potomac River on January 21.
We're all experiencing a new climate "normal," thanks to an overheated planet, with more unusual, disruptive and often-dangerous weather. And it's happening more quickly than it was thought that it would by the 97% of the world's climate scientists who agree that human activity, especially the burning of coal, oil and natural gas, is primarily responsible for the earth heating up.
That's why I've made the climate crisis my major focus of work for the last seven years, and it's why I'm planning to take part in the 7th annual CCAN polar bear plunge along with hundreds of others on January 21st.
