Thank you for visiting my fundraising page for The Hope Heart Institute!

In 2006 having just turned 40 I started to panic a little about my weight and overall health...none of my numbers were good and there was no hope of anything changing until I changed. I started a little walking club and with the encouragement of my friend Kristin I decided maybe I could walk a half marathon.  We started slowly and were amazed each week as we walked farther than we thought we could!  We completed the Seattle Half Marathon in November of 2006  and this was the beginning of an amazing journey which led me to Raise the Hope, my triathlon team sponsored by the Hope Heart Institute

Everything is better since then, I am 48 LBS lighter and all of my blood work is in the ‘healthy’ range now...all accomplished through diet and exercise...not perfect and certainly not fast, but better...much much better! Using the free screening though the Hope I’ve been able to track my stats and the numbers speak for themselves -

2007      2010

176          78     Triglycerides

4.7           2.6    Cholesterol Ratio

141          99      LDL

107          78      Blood Sugar

Now five years later I am again doing the Seattle Half Marathon, I am lighter, faster, and so much healthier...this race is a celebration!

I want to thank the Hope Heart Institute and more importantly; help them continue the amazing work they do within our communities.  It will be a huge challenge and I hope that you will support me by making some small donation to this important cause! THANK YOU!  Donating through this website is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to support my fundraising efforts.

Many thanks for your support -- and don't forget to forward this to anyone who you think might want to donate too
