The Bay Area Step Up for Down Syndrome is one of 2 fundraisers and the largest one that keeps the Down Syndrome Connection doors open. We are hoping to raise $150,000 on line in 2012 and we know that is possible since you all raised an amazing $120,000 in 2011.
Why should you fundraise? The Down Syndrome Connection of the Bay Area proudly supports hundreds of Bay Area families and extended families who love someone with Down syndrome. Each year the DSCBA conducts approximately 300 after school developmental classes and over 30 support groups and workshops. The DSCBA welcomes on average 50 new families each year and provides outreach to many hospitals and school districts in the greater Bay Area. We have an extensive lending and AAC library and access to many specialists. We are also excited to build an alliance this year with many Bay Area school districts to provide much needed educator training and resources.
After 14 years the Connection remains the only organization in the Bay Area that serves the specific needs of those with Down syndrome and their families.
