On Sunday, September 13th I will be participating in TEAM HOPE WALK for Huntington's Disease in order to help raise money and awareness of HD.

For those of you not familiar with Huntington's Disease, it is a devastating, hereditary, degenerative brain disorder for which, at present, there is no effective treatment or cure.  HD slowly diminishes an individual's ability to walk, think, talk and reason.  Everyone who carries the gene will develop the disease.

My husband has Huntington's Disease and after genetic testing, one of our daughters was diagnosed with the gene and  will develop the disease.  In addition, her children have a 50/50 chance of being gene positive.  That is why I am so passionate about helping to raise money and awareness.  The researchers are optimistic that a cure is in the future.
