We just realized yesterday that we had not launched our 2012 AIDS Walk campaign, and now, we are doing a last minute scramble to raise money for one of the great causes in our community!
AIDS Walk raises money to help over 5,700 women, men, and children with AIDS in our community. Supporting programs at the Kansas City Free Health Clinic, Save Inc., Good Samaritan Project, and Hope Care Center, the money may not cure AIDS, but it will allow those who are living with HIV/AIDS to do just that--live. The cost of the money we share is nothing compared to the value of another day of life that we can give someone to share with their friends, parents, or kids.
So please consider making a gift this week!
And just because we are all about rewarding good deeds, we'd like to make an offer. For every gift of $20 or more, Richard will make you a dozen cookies (actually 12 frozen cookie dough balls) so that you can have fresh Richard cookies whenever you want. [If you're not in town, we may have to come up with an alternative thank you because I worry about shipping frozen cookie dough...]
And because we know that so many of you get so many asks and have so many favorite causes that you're supporting, we'll also hold a drawing for everyone who makes any gift under $20. The lucky winner will also win a dozen of Richard's cookies.
In addition to our gratitude and the chance at delicious Richard cookies, everyone who donates at any amount will get a special thank you greeting from the two of us. We haven't ironed out the details, but y'all know how quirky we are--we'll try to come up with something fun.
Also, if we can hit our goal by 11:59pm this Friday (April 27th), I'll throw in an extra $100 to AIDS Walk.
Many thanks for your support -- and if you have any friends that just positively love to give money to causes like this, please forward this page!
