Many of our area's homeless are dedicated, hard working people that are worthy of your support. The Lords Place knows this first hand and that's why we created the HomeTeam....a program that allows our homeless to prove themselves by training to compete in The Marathon of The Palm Beaches on December 2. They've run literally hundreds of miles this summer, in the heat, to get ready to accomplish what most of us will never attempt. Please be there to cheer them across the finish line and please make a contribution to The Lords Place on their behalf! For more information about The HomeTeam please visit www.hometeamwpb.org.
Below are Personal Messages from a few of the Recovery Runners.
Douglas Scheer
By being involved with the HomeTeam through The Lord's Place, I realize how training for the marathon and being physically active has helped me in my recovery process. I don't want to even think about where I would be today without the help and support that I have received at Joshua House through The Lord's Place. l hope to be able to give back so that others can be helped through raising money for the continuation of The Lord's Place programs.
Qually Hearns
The majority of my life has been a very grueling and vicious marathon of drugs and alcohol use causing a life of jails, homelessness and three prison tours. Today with the help of The Lord's Place, I am running a different kind of marathon. I now work at a drug treatment facility, helping others to recover from the very same agonizing state of despair that once held me bound for so many years. I am also preparing to run in as many marathon events as possible. My quest is to inspire other recovering addicts and to say to them that we are never too old to reclaim back our lives.

A Boy Becomes A Man... I am honored and proud to be part of Joshua House and The HomeTeam. Responsibility and growing up are two things that I never grasped in life. I am honored and proud to be part of Joshua House and The HomeTeam. Responsibility and growing up are two things that I never grasped in life. I always hid behind drugs and alcohol and the only time I ever ran was from the cops. What I am learning from Joshua House and The HomeTeam is that it is okay to be Robert Sochko. From being homeless to being a productive member of society, I am now an advocate for the homeless and that is why I am running with The HomeTeam to let them know that there is a better way to live.
Support Doug, Qually, and Robert and all The HomeTeam members.
