From September 21st through the 28th, i pitched a tent, and lived by myself on the roof of the Amun Ra Theatre Playhouse at 2508 Clifton Avenue in North Nashville, and i needed your help to get down.  There were thunderstorms and monsoon-like rains and lightning, and i was almost overcome by the weather at many points. i perservered because of your faith and your contributions. You helped me get back to my family after just over a week, i appreciate you covering me. More than that, you showed the kids i work with that YOU HAVE THEIR BACK!

It doesn't have to end here, though. You got me off the roof, butif you missed that part, and you're just coming to this site, then help me Raise the Roof to a higher level...

We do not receive ANY funds from government grants. we are funded 100% by YOUR CONTRIBUTIONS. We rely on YOU to help us keep our freedom to teach and to grow and not be dependent on changing environmnents to grow and thrive, teaching kids how to show out on stage as opposed to the street corners.

Your donations will help us keep exposing the hidden light of African-American culture. Our actors present plays year-round, and the shows we present fund our Youth Performing ARTs Academy. The last time the community banded together, we built the playhouse i lived on top of in just 3 days, with over 60 volunteers. Now we're asking for you to help us raise the money to keep advancing our mission.

With any assistance you want to provide above and beyond our goal, ART will be able to continue to provide the highest quality theatre and youth programming in the inner-city of Nashville. By giving what you can, you're making a difference in the lives of the next generation of creative minds, who, without your help, might end up on the very corners i saw daily from my spot on the roof.
