A school was built in Caala, Angola…thanks to YOU! Check out some pics of the new school which was completed in November 2010 by RISE International!
But our work is not done. There are still over 4 million children in Angola who do not have a school to attend.
Every child should have the chance to go to school, to learn to read and write. We can do something to make a difference now…
Education is the key component in breaking the cycle of poverty and despair -- and our efforts have and will continue to make a difference!

Because of the efforts of so many, the Angola Project 2010 raised $14,294! Those funds have already been combined with money from five other high schools, and a school in the remote village of Caala was built. There has never been a school in this village and over 600 kids are now attending protected from sun, wind, and rain.
The Angola Project is a collaborative effort of students and adults in Tucson, AZ working together to build a school in Angola. We are raising money for RISE International, an organization which works to rebuild lives and communities by partnering with Angolan churches, community leaders, and government officials to build primary schools in rural Angola, bringing the opportunity to receive an education to thousands of children. RISE embraced a dream to impact Angola through education -- one child, one classroom, one school at a time.
The Angola Project started in 2007 when three Ironwood Ridge High School students decided they wanted to make a difference in the lives of children in Angola. Many schools, churches, teams, and local businesses partnered for three years to send a shipping container filled with school supplies, clothing, and soccer equipment to rural Angola. Those containers arrived and the supplies were distributed to those most in need in this war-torn country.
The containers made a positive impact, but our efforts shifted to fundraising to build schools in 2010.
The Angola Project 2010 consisted of many different events including:
