Celebrating *@! years on March 14th, 2006!

To all my special friends and family:

When we get to a birthday, we almost naturally stop and reflect upon the past year. For me and my life’s work here at The Cooperative Feeding Program, it has been a very challenging 12 months. What with all those hurricanes and the increase in economic violence – what some call poverty – the demand for food has risen dramatically. We served more meals this past year than ever before – 1.2 MILLION!

And when I started thinking about a cake and presents for my birthday in the face of so much need, I decided to ask you to help The Cooperative Feeding Program instead. The best birthday present you can give me is the smile of contentment on a homeless person after he or she has eaten a hot breakfast at our agency. And we can do that for less than the price of a birthday card!
