Supporting Cambodia's Children
The PEPY Ride (www.pepyride.org) bought a team of volunteers to Cambodia in late April 2006 to support the children of Cambodia. These volunteers (Amy Tracey, Dane Richards, Natalie Dushney, Joshua Bernstein, Mia Simring, Emma Wilson, Noah Simring, Rachel Allen, Matthew Gano, Cindy Numata, and Daniela Papi) supported Sangkheum Center for Children in Siem Reap.
Meaning 'hope' in Khmer, the Sangkheum Center for Children is working to provide education and training options for local communities around Siem Reap in Cambodia. Without support, many children have no alternative but to earn their living begging from tourists around the ancient Temples of Angkor.
The May volunteers visited Sangkheum Center and helped build two houses for the children of the center who have gotten too old and must leave the main orphanage facility. These houses will be shared by multiple children, in their teens, who will learn to live on their own and adjust into the work force.
By donating in support of the work of these volunteers, you will enable them to be ambassadors for you, bringing your money directly where it is needed most. Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. Many thanks for your support -- and don't forget to forward this to anyone who you think might want to donate too!
PS: Hawaii International HOPE Foundation (HIHF) delivers 100% of these donations to the Sangkheum (HOPE) Center in Cambodia as HIHF is their tax free representative in the USA.
