Theresa Parulan's Fundraising Page
Thank you for visiting my Personal Fundraising Page. I thank you also for giving me a moment of your time to read my story.
As many of you have read in my fundraising page last year, the Scleroderma Foundation is very close to my heart because as a patient it provides me the support and resources I need to cope with scleroderma and the hope that someday there will be a cure for this devastating disease.
Most of you already know that I have linear scleroderma --it has affected the muscles and tissues of my entire right leg, from the hips down to my toes, and recently it progressed again in my right upper arm. My right leg is half the size of my "normal" leg and is also an inch shorter, which is why you'll probably notice I limp when I walk. I have had this disease since I was 9 years old. Since then I have always been very conscious of my leg, which is why you always see me in long pants even if the weather is 100 degrees. But with the unconditional love and support from my husband Dexter, my family and some of my close friends, I am slowly able to show my legs in public --which believe me is not a very easy thing for me to do. My first time to wear shorts in public was at the walk last year, so I am looking forward to my opportunity to wear shorts again for this coming walk. So, if you can, please join me and my family on October 8th, your presence will mean a lot to me.
I will be mailing an actual walk registration to many of you, but if you decide that you would rather show your support through this website, please do so. Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to make a contribution to my fundraising efforts. Please remember your donation is tax deductible.
I truly appreciate any support you may be able to give me. Thank you very much for your support and friendship. Please feel free to forward this to anyone who you think might want to donate too!
God bless!
Sincerely,
Theresa De Vega Parulan
