Thank you for visiting our fund raising page! We are an MU student organization (The Veg*n Life Society) along with some other wonderful members of the community,including some pretty amazing kids who will be participating in the annual  Dogs Deserve Better Chain-Off. The WV event will be held at Ritter Park in downtown Huntington,WV on Sunday, June 28th from 10:30am to at least 6:30pm. Our goal is to again chain ourselves for 8 hours in order to raise awareness for chained/penned dogs in our area! We are asking for you to please help make this event successful! We exceeded our goal last year, raising $1200.00 thanks to all our generous donators!

    DDB is a non-profit organization. They have area representatives all over the U.S. who rescue, vet, rehabilitate and re-home chained/penned dogs. They will educate, provide fencing, crates and other services to people who decide they are willing to bring the dogs in to their home. They also help change laws and ensure existing laws are enforced.      The dogs in the above photo have been treated as if they are only trash -so easily thrown away and forgotten.(this photo was taken in the Tri-state area) These beautiful social creatures, with desires and needs all their own- along with so many others desperately need our help! This is a far too common occurence and far too ignored issue that plagues WV and all corners of the U.S.

    We realize the rising cost of food and gas have many of us on a tight budget, but if we all just spared $1.00 towards this effort ( about the cost of a candy bar or coffee)-imagine all the lives we would help to change! Please consider donating to this terrific cause. These dogs DO deserve better and with your help we can raise the much needed awareness and funds to one by one break the chains and get these precious companions indoors with family where they belong!
