This contribution page is a tribute to my parents, Robert and Arlene Heckel.  In dedication to them, I have selected Give Kids the World Village as a charity to honor them.  The more you contribute, the bigger the honor for my parents and the more Give Kids thw World Village benefits from your donations.

I pay tribute to my parents for all their patience, kindness, and support they have given me throughout the years.   My Mother recently experienced a stroke but continues to rehabilitate on a daily basis.  My Dad continues to stay by her side in support and love.

My sister Lynda has taken on a lot of responsibilty by shopping, cleaning, and helping to entertain my Mother.

My other sister, Laura supports my parents as much as she can.  She is raising a son, has a job that involves traveling, and has a husband who is experiencing a medical battle as well.

As for me, I live in Florida which is about 2,000 miles away from my parents and feel bad that I cannot be with them during these times.  I call them on a weekly basis and have offered to move back, but, they prefer to keep things as they are and I respect that.  Give Kids the World Village is a piece of Heaven on Earth.  I have some association with the kids experiencing life threatening illnesses who stay there as I have had my own experience starting from childhood.

My parents have always been there for me and set forth the values that have urged me to give back.
