A few days ago, I made a decision to run with the wonderful students of The Sales Centre and the Sports Administration programs at Ohio University who have joined forces to produce the Miracles for Life® 3^rd annual “Rock ‘n Run for Life” 5K Charity Walk & Run in Athens, OH during the annual Ohio University Bobcat Blitz green and white spring football game on Saturday, April 25, 2009.

Funds from this event will be used to cover the $370 it will cost to send a child age 7-17recovering from a life-saving organ or tissue transplant and parent to the new Miracles for Life® camp for transplant recipient families at Camp Joy Outdoor Educational Center near Cincinnati. Miracles for Life is non-profit 501c3 (Tax ID 75-3060618)

This camp, modeled after the Paul Newman “Hole in the Wall Camps”, will offer teens and children recovering from life-saving tissue and organ transplants an outdoor educational experience that will inspire them to be their greater self.”

Your kind donation will keep the cost to each family to a minimum and allow us to fill the camp with fun-loving children and their parents. Our goal is to raise $20,000 at the race which would send 50 children and their parent to the camp.

Lifeline of Ohio the Organ Recovery Organization (OPO) for central and southeastern Ohio and the SE Ohio American Red Cross will be in Athens on race day, to accept organ donor registrations and blood donations.

We know this is tough times for everyone; but, imagine the joy your donation could give to children who have spent much of their young lives in sterile hospitals.  So, please donate from the heart! It all starts with you!
