My grandmother died of kidney disease at 23 years of age. My mother grew up without her mother, and it was hard on her. I never got to know my grandmother. My daughter lost her kidney function when she was 11. It caused her to have 3 kidney transplants. My daughter gave up many things that people her age considered part of normal life, and had to work 100 times harder than the average person her age. It affected my wife and me by constant worry and sadness for our daughter. We considered it a great year when she was not in the hospital, which was rare. We hope that you will see how kidney disease is skyrocketing in this world, and help us and the thousands of people in Michigan affected everyday.
