World Vision works to tackle the root causes of poverty by working with children, families, and their communities to provide things like clean water, health care, nutritious food, education, and economic opportunities.
Race day is almost here...Sunday, October 11. I pray that people will "prime the pumps" of the water projects in Africa that my run with Team World Visionsupports. Each $5 donation is like one step on the foot pedal of a pump that will provide clean water for people who otherwise need to walk great distances to carry water to their homes.
Please pray for us as we press on in the race ahead!
Press On
Pounding, pounding, pounding;
Step after step after step;
Mile after mile after mile.
For what?
Why endure the hardship?
Why volunteer for the pain?
Not for self-glory,
Others maybe, not us.
For the team,
Join hands with others
In a common cause.
Running for those in pain,
We take as our own
In some small measure,
Each step a salve
To ease their suffering.
Hurting with those who hurt,
We press on to the finish,
Really only a beginning,
Step after step after step;
Mile after mile after mile.
