Racing for Timothy
Dear Family and Friends,
As most of you know, our son Timothy was diagnosed last year with Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy. He will never be able to run or play like normal children. His muscle cells will die and won't regenerate. There is a chance he will be in a wheel chair by 12 and might not live past his teens. There is no cure!
This year, CureDuchenne has been blessed to be named one of the Core Charity organizations of the Austin Marathon. Therefore, on February 18, 2007, I plan to run the Austin Marathon again as a humble participant of a Core Charity in the Marathon. With your help, Timothy and our family will find the strength we need to cross the finish line of life!
Proceeds from this event will go to CureDuchenne. This foundation was created by parents of a Duchenne boy. Their goal is like ours...to save THIS generation of boys with Duchenne. They aggressively fund promising research that can lead to practical therapies and or a cure for our boys. They work with the urgency of a literal deadline and share the faith, with us, that a cure will be found in time for our sons.
Thank you for sponsoring me in this race. Your generosity today, will be rewarded by the smile on Timothy's face tomorrow.
Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to make a contribution to our fundraising efforts. Many thanks for your support -- and don't forget to forward this to anyone who you think might want to donate too!
