Timothy's 5th Marathon
Dear Friends of Timothy,
What drives you when you wake up in the morning? Is it something bigger than yourself? For us, seeing our son walk past the age of 7 is motivation to fight with everything we have. Just four short years ago we started our mission to raise awareness about Timothy's Horrible Disease. Many of you have stood by us through thick and thin for this we humbly thank you. We have once again dedicated the Austin Marathon to Boys like Timothy who have Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy. They will never run, or climb, as just walking takes tremendous effort.
For this reason we ask you to support me once again as I attempt to run my 5th Austin Marathon. As always the money we raise goes to CureDuchenne. Through the years we have promised the money is making a difference in Research and the following link proves this true. Our first project just received major funding which will hopefully bring about a treatment for many Duchenne boys. Please read the following link:http://www.cureduchenne.org/2009/10/prosensa-and-glaxosmithkline-form-alliance-to-fight-duchenne-muscular-dystrophy/
Timothy is doing well, without the use of steroids he would be one year away from his first wheelchair. But because of your prayers, love and support he walks today and lives a fairly normal life. Our prayer is to continue to see him this way, one day at a time! Once again, we ask you to join us in sponsoring my 100,000 plus steps this February 14th, 2010. This disease takes all of us to fight it, and with the help of God a miracle will one day be available for all 200,000 worldwide. This is our faith and we will put it to work once again in the Austin Marathon. We thank you and we love you!
