Journey to the Top
My name is Deputy Tim English with the Lewis County Sheriff's Office. I have been employed with the Lewis County Sheriff’s Office since October 2006. On July 21, 2011 through July 23, 2011, I will be climbing to the summit of Mt. Rainier with the Special Olympics Torch in an effort to raise awareness and bring attention to the Special Olympics of Washington. The climb to the summit of Mt. Rainier is a total of nearly 10,000 feet elevation gain, and the longest endurance climb in the lower 48 states. The Special Olympics has been a cause near and dear to my heart, and hope this effort will bring further attention to the Special Olympics as well as help raise funds so that these very special athletes can continue their long standing tradition of developing physical fitness, sharing friendship, and demonstrating courage and sportsmanship. Please find it in your heart to make a donation no matter how small.
We are expecting to arrive back at the Paradise Observatory on July 23 between 3pm and 5pm. Please come a join us in the celebration of handing off the torch to a Special Olympian after it returns from the Summit of one of Washington's largest icons.
