For those of you who don't know me, my name is Tim Ragan, I am 32 years old, and I have brain cancer. In 2003 after having a seizure I was told that I had a tumor in my brain. Following surgery (3/11/03) to remove the tumor, I was diagnosed with a benign oligodendroglioma. After that difficult time I began to run again. In 2006, during a routine check-up, I found out that the tumor had returned. After my second brain surgery (7/25/06) it was found that the tumor had become malignant. I am currently being treated with chemotherapy. So far I have been tolerating this treatment very well, but I am one of the lucky ones. There are many in very similar circumstances who are not so fortunate. Since I have been able to live my life much as I did before, I wanted to help others who are fighting this battle.
If you have been watching this page you may have noticed the fundraising target increasing. After setting an initial goal of $1000 which was quickly reached, I realized that the goal needed to be modified to match the generosity of everyone who has participated so far. With your help I hope we can meet this new goal.
***As of today, February 10, my goal of raising $10,000 has been reached, but that doesn't mean it's over. I am not going to raise the target this time, let's just see how high we can go!***
Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to make a contribution to my fundraising efforts. Many thanks for your support -- and don't forget to forward this to anyone who you think might want to donate too!
