Children in orphanages around the world may have food, clothing and shelter, but often they lack an essential ingredient for basic health and happiness—touch. Without it, children often feel discarded, forgotten and even untouchable, especially when their circumstances are complicated by being sick or having a disability.
In an effort to address the need for nurturing touch among children, Tina Allen formed the Liddle Kidz Foundation (LKF). The foundation’s mission includes setting up massage and nurturing touch programs in orphanages and children’s care settings across the globe. LKF’s goal is to provide infants and children with experiences of caring and nurturing touch that they often lack. In addition to working directly with the children, LKF volunteers teach staff and caregivers at these facilities ways to continue to provide supportive, comforting touch to the children in their care.
It is the vision of Liddle Kidz Foundation Global to make a true difference for children who have been orphaned, along with their caregivers who lack the necessary support to provide them with best developmental care possible.
LKF Global focus areas include working with children who have special healthcare needs and developmental differences. We have been fortunate to develop programs and techniques that show marked improvement in a number of conditions, diagnoses and symptoms that children face on a daily basis.
Specifically we provide focused support to orphans and children affected by HIV/AIDS, Cerebral Palsy, Spina Bifida, Agent Orange, Down Syndrome, Autism/ASD, Muscular Dystrophy, landmine survivors, children with visual and hearing impairments, as well as a host of mental and physical impairments.
In Vietnam, Unicef estimates that there are 1,500,000 orphans. The Liddle Kidz Foundation Global programs supports these children who are the unfortunate causalities of a long ago war. Infants and children in Vietnam have effects that have been passed down from the generation before in the form of birth defects from Agent Orange and the remnants of landmines. It is through our work that we aim to bring healing and participate in the exchange of love and forgiveness that is needed to heal the affects of the Vietnam War.
Your donation will help support our team in going to Vietnam to provide hands-on nurturing care to infants & children, as well as, teach their caregivers to continue this care long after we return home.
Donating through this website is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to support our fundraising efforts.
Many thanks for your support -- and don't forget to forward this to anyone who you think might want to donate too!
