Thanks for visiting my fundraising page and assisting me in supporting the Garden of Dreams Foundation, to make dreams come true for kids in crisis. 

For the second year in a row, my goal is to raise money for Garden of Dreams by representing Madison Square Garden as a member of the "Dream Team" and run the ING New York City Marathon on November 1, 2009.  Yes, I'm doing the 26.2 miles yet AGAIN.  Last year I raised over $7,000 and completed the marathon in 4:24.13.  This year my goal is to raise $8,000 (and an extra $26.20 to be symbolic), and finish in 4:23.  Hey ... the true meaning of all this is to at least FINISH!

The Garden of Dreams Foundation is a non profit charity partnering with local children's hospitals, "wish" organizations and community-based organizations to build on-going, unforgettable programs for children in the Tri-State area who are suffering from devastating illness, homlessness, abuse, hunger, extreme poverty and tragedy. 

I have witnessed the smiles and joy of these children and their families when they visit Madison Square Garden to attend games, events, meet athletes and celebrities that they once only dreamed about. I believe strongly in Garden of Dreams' impact on people's lives. In fact, you can meet Charlie Pena yourself ... click here.

When I was a kid, my father, Joe, ran the Asbury Park Marathon in New Jersey, he was my inspiration to run track in high school, and complete my first Marathon just last year. The Garden of Dreams helped me make my dream come true. Finishing the marathon was an honor, grueling, yet humbling experience.  
And now I'm back, for one reason: to help others ... along the miles.
