As all of you know, I am a 1 yr Breast Cancer Survivor. I have had family members battle this disease, 1 of them, Aunt Nancy has had it 2 times, and a dear mom,sister,grandma and friend, Anna Laney fought Breast Cancer and Thyroid Cancer ad thankfully survived. Cousin Anita and now a niece in Tenn is batteling it as well.

I was Greatful to of had Health Insurance and was extremely lucky to of caught it early. I had a Double Mastectomy Dec 2009 and am now 1 Year Cancer Free. I was lucky that I had a great doc that ordered the right tests and didn't take a "wait and see" attitude with my concerns. Had a Mamogram, Ultra Sound, Biopsy, results and Surgery Scheduled all within 3 weeks time period. I opted for a lumpectomy the first surgery and due to "unclean Margins" I needed another surgery. I opted for a double mastectomy. Honestly I can't imagin what I would of done without Family and friends but also if I was uninsured.

This walk is to Provide Grants for Diagnosis and Treatment for low income women and women without insurance to get Mamograms and biopsies for diagnosis.  Go on their web site and check it out. It is threw a Hospital in Palm Desert, not some fly by night organization or 1 that nobodies ever heard of so their grants are never applied for..

Please, I know the time is short and economics are Tight, but, please consider a donation. No matter how small or if you can large to help me reach my goal of 2,000. Please forward this to everyone in your adress book so that it may reach as many people as possible before the Oct 10th date.
