LET'S HELP ADAM WITH HIS NEW HEART
Hello Sponsor,
Let me introduce you to Adam Trumble. I ask you to consider sponsoring a pledge for me as I run the five (5) mile course for Adam this year.
He was born July 26th, 2005 - happy, healthy, ten perfect toes, ten perfect fingers. He has two older sisters, Laura and Emily, a wonderful mommy and a cool daddy who is a firefighter for the City of Milwaukee. His first year-and-a-half was full of playtime and fun, but last winter he started getting sick all the time and having trouble breathing. He was admitted to Children's Hospital in Milwaukee, and was diagnosed with a heart condition. Medication did not help and further tests revealed that he has a rare heart disease known as restrictive cardiomyopathy, for which there is no cure. His only hope was a heart transplant.
He was in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit since July 6th, 2007 waiting for a new heart. On July 13th, his heart failed and he was put on a heart lung bypass machine (ECMO). Then he was given a Berlin Heart Pump (L-VAD) so that his lungs and the rest of his body would have an opportunity to recover before the transplant. He was lucky because the FDA has approved this pump on a trial basis at only ten hospitals in the United States. He grew stronger and more active with each passing day. And on October 1, 2007 he received his new heart.

He has made lots of new friends at the hospital and now loves playing with his mommy and sisters all day. However, the single cost of a transplant often exceeds $500,000, and 100% of all funds raised will be used to treat Adam and children like him.
