Pledge to make a difference for Addison
I will once again be participating (15th year) in the Briggs & Al's Run & Walk for Children's Hospital on Saturday, Oct. 9, 2010 because I want to make a difference in the life of a child.
This year that child is Addison Grimm, the daughter of Rusty Jr. and Heather Grimm of Wautoma, who was born May 16, 2009 weighing 6 pounds 13 ounces at Mercy Medical Center in Oshkosh. Just a few short weeks later she was flown to Children's Hospital of Wisconsin in Milwaukee where she was daignosed with an extermely rare liver disease known as ALK + Histiocytosis and she needs our help!
In fact, this disease is so rare that she is one of only four such known cases in the world and both the doctors and medical staff at Children's Hospital have been there all the way for Little Addison in her struggle wth this disease.
Her parents have been told that the upside to all of this treatment is that in the other three cases of ALK + Histiocytosis, each child did respond well to the treatments and got better after 8 months to a year of treatments and they also did not see the disease return.
They are also very hopeful that Addison will respond in a similar way to those cases and are very grateful for everyones thoughts and prayers as Addison contiunes to fight this disease.
I ask you to please consider making a pledge to sponsor me as I run the five (5) miles for Addison and also to help me reach my pledge raising goal for her and all of the sick Children at the Hospital by making a tax deductable donation today.
Please know that your support will help Children's Hospital continue to provide the top-notch care kids like Addison deserve. Briggs & Al's Run & Walk for Children's Hospital is the oldest run & walk in the State of Wisconsin and one of the largest combined 8K events in the United States. Because of generous donations from people like you, outstanding community support, corporate sponsorships and active pledge raising, this event has raised more that $10.3 million dollars over the past thirty one years.
In the event you do not wish to donate online, please forward your donation payable to "Children's Hospital" to me at 453 Winding Waters Way, De Pere, Wi 54115 no later than Wednesday October 6th. Thanking you in advance for your consideration and don't forget to forward this to anyone who you think might want to donate too!
Sincerely,
T. J. Sorensen
