Thank you for visiting my fundraising page!
I am running the Chicago Marathon this year to raise money for Misericordia, Heart of Mercy in Chicago, IL a residential home for over 600 children and adults who have developmental disabilities. A close friend of my parents have a son, Michael Brennan, who is mentally and physically impaired and blind, has lived at and has been lovingly cared for at Misericordia for over 20 years. His caregivers treat him with dignity and respect. Michael goes to a developmental training program every week day. The program that he attends is called GRACEful living and is geared towards the older residents. In this program Michael may choose what activities he wants to do that day- having a book read to him, listening to music, art & crafts and the main goal is that the residents have as much fun as possible and are happy!
The money that the pays to Misericordia for the care of all the residents cannot begin to pay for the extraordinary care and programs that the residents receive. This why it is so important and necessary to raise additional funds every year. So many caring benefactors are willing to help raise the additional funds to make the life’s of the residents so rewarding…..
Thank you for your time and attention to this very important matter.
