Hi, You have come to Kiri's fundrasing page, This is our second yr. doing the walk. Thank you to those people that joined us last year and to those joining us this year. The walk has become very important to us not only because we like helping for a good cause, but because of our little one.. (Kiri) has Downs. The kind that she's got is trisomy21. We found out at 5 months of pregnancy. It was tough since we did not know much about Down Syndrome. We didn't know what to expect! It wasn't till after kiri was born that we met a person from the Fresno Area Down Syndrome Society . He handed us a package, in it was a video and a lot of reading material. It helped us a to understand about what was happening. Also as we attended some ot their functions,  we reallized that there's many posibilities for down syndrome children, like the things kiri would be able to do and how much more she could accomplish. Kiri is almost 4yrs old, she attends a Headstart Full Inclusion class, is speaking a lot more and is learning some sign language. She's making great progress.
