The Walk for Economic Empowrment is not only one of our annual highlights at PEER Servants, it's one of my personal annual highlights as well. I know how God uses this day and your generous support to transform the lives of thousands around the world.
People like Emily, a young widow in the Philippines, who started with a $100 loan but now has a curtain and pillowcase manufacturing business employing 20 and distributing through another 20 wholesalers. She decided to become a follower of Jesus as a result of the love shown to her by the local Filipino staff.
And people like Florence in Northern Uganda who through a series of small but growing loans was able to overcome her physical disability and being widowed and is now providing for her family, employing others, and blessing her community through her secondhand clothes retailing business. Once a Muslim, she now knows Jesus.
And people like SF Mark in Sri Lanka. He and his family had been displaced by war. They lost virtually everything. But the local Christian microfinance institution reached out to him, and through a series of small loans and business training, he establish his coconut fiber manufacturing business and is now distributing brooms, brushes, and mats to over 100 villages.
These are just three stories. Through the services offered by our indigenous Christian partnering organizations, there are tens of thousands more. These partnering organizations will receive every penny we raise in this Walk, and we will take a few more steps in making Jesus' vision a reality - "thy Kingdom come".
Thank you for your support!
