When the earthquake hit Haiti in January 2010, most of us thought that was just the icing on the cake for a country already devastated by the cruelties of being a third world nation. We have all heard the stories of poverty, voodoo, disease, piracy, and lawlessness in Haiti. The quake however was a rally cry to the church to come along side this broken country. My church Crossline has been one of those local churches who’ve answered the call.

Since March 2010, Crossline Church has been down to Haiti at least 8 times to help rebuild in the Port au Prince neighbor, Croix de Bouquets. The focus has been on rebuilding 3 of the homes, Completing a clean water pump, Assisting the community leaders, the provisioning of two orphanages, helping to create long term job opportunities, running a vacation bible school, and most importantly, displaying the love of Christ through serving this desperate community. Though the progress has been evident, the need in every area is still overwhelming.

That is why this November I am helping to serve on a Men's Mission trip to Haiti. Our goal is to continue the work that has begun before us. We will help secure a sister church in Croix de Bouquets (one of the focal meeting points in the community) by installing a door & windows, provide repairs on several homes, lead a local pastors conference, hold a vocational training and assistance day, expand our work with a group rescuing kids off the streets, and plan an evangelistic outreach and feeding among the most desperate and needy- all while proclaiming the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
I would like to ask for your partnership in this mission. You can partner in a couple of ways.
First, as our team prepares for this trip over the next couple of months I would ask for your prayers. Pray for the team's health and their families. Pray that God would allow us to handle any of the surprises and obstacles that come our way. Pray that God be glorified in all we do.
Second, I would ask you to consider financially supporting this mission. To make this trip possible I will need to raise support in total of $2300. This money will make it possible to help us resource all the efforts listed above as well as covering the cost of transportation, food and supplies.
