Success!!!! Completed the entire 5K in just over an hour (1 hr 18min)! It was the most amazing feeling. I'm already excited to start training for next year... running the 5K. :)
The support I got from my "team" was what really got me through it all. Knowing that my husband, Shawn, and my mom, Debi were waiting at the finish line... knowing that my best friend, Paula, was up ahead, running for me... knowing that my brother-in-law, Nate and my nephew, Jamin, were walking with us, behind us, ahead of us- with all the back-tracking to check on us I'm sure they walked much further than 5K.... mostly, knowing that my twin sister, Stacey, was right beside me, no matter how slow I walked and that she would make sure I made it all the way to the end... and we did- together.
I want to think everyone for their supprt, donations, well-wishes. This site will be up until 7/11 so please feel free to pass it along to anyone you know who might like to help!
Much love- Tracey
UPDATE 4/10: Race Day! OK, so I'm only racing against myself but still excited! Been up since 5:30l no way am I going to be late for this, it's too important. Thanks to everyone for all of their support. My team includes: Paula (running), and Stacey, Nate and Jamin walking with me, propping me up as needed. Also attending are my mom, Debi, and my husband, Shawn, as rooter-oners and picture takers. :)
Dear Friends and Family-
Thank you for visiting my fundraising page. After years of saying "One day I will do something to help..." this year I'm finally doing it! On April 10th I will be participating in the Run4NF 5K run/walk to raise awareness and funds to support NF, Inc in helping those affected by NF and finding a cure for Neurofibromatosis.
This cause is very close to my heart because when I was 17 years old I was diagnosed with NF 2. In the almost 17 years that have passed since then I have had multiple surgeries; Gamma Knife radiation twice; MRIs too numerous to count... and last July I lost what was left of my hearing.
For a more personal view of how NF 2 affects us please watch this short video (that's me at 4:23):

Since this is my first fundraising effort I've set my goal fairly low- please help me shatter it! I would love to have to raise my goal higher. Donating through this website is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to support my fundraising efforts.
Thank you for your support -- and don't forget to forward this to anyone who you think might want to donate too! If you would like to contact me, please email me at trsamuels76@yahoo.com.
Sincerely,
Tracey
