Race Against Childhood Cancer
Hi Everyone! On April 21st, I'll be running 26.2 miles for the Boston Marathon. More importantly, through the Mass General Hospital's Patient-Partner Program I am running in honor my friend Mady who is currently undergoing cancer treatment at the hospital. Mady is 14 years old and was diagnosed with leukemia. This is the second year I will be running for this cause which effects so many children and their families. Mady inspires me to run because she shows so much courage and perseverance each and every day of her life.
I have been training very hard preparing for the race. My last long distance run was 22 miles. But I can not succeed alone. I am asking for your help to reach my fund-raising goal of $3,000. The funds raised by the MassGeneral Marathon Team support research into the causes of childhood cancer and help initiate effective new treatments for young patients. Your donation will give these kids a fighting chance to beat this disease.
