Dearest friends,

As most of you may already know... On August 3, 2010, Derek and I lost our precious 9-year-old son, Kaden, to a fatal seizure.  Kaden was diagnosed with epilepsy at age four. We also have a 13-year-old daughter who has epilepsy.  To our knowledge, Derek and I do not have any family history of epilepsy, so we aren't sure why we had two children with the disorder.

So in memory and honor of our precious son, and to hopefully get answers to our questions, we have made it our personal goal to raise awareness and find cure for epilepsy!  We also want this for our daughter and the many, many others living with epilepsy.

We believe Kaden's precious life on this earth was a gift from God.  His sweet, short life had a purpose, and that is to make a positive difference in the lives of so many who are living with epilepsy!
