Steve and I are participating for our very first time,  in the Dog's Deserve Better '2009 Chain-Off' with some very special people and dear friends of ours.  This annual event happens each year around Independence Day to bring awareness and raise funds for chained and penned animals.  Many of which have spent their entire lives in hell, and with your help, we can work towards giving them a little slice of heaven while they are on earth. 

I am really excited and looking forward to the plans that Dogs Deserve Better has to one day build a chained and penned dog rehabilitation center.  After we have personally rescued dogs that had previously lived on chains, being neglected and/or abused, it would be fantastic to have not only a place for these dogs to go to, but it will also serve as an excellent resource tool for education. 

Steve & I will be in excellent company as we 'chain-up.  Tamira Ci Thayne, the Founder of Dogs Deserve Better is the most phenominal advocate any dog could ever ask for.  We also are teaming up with Rhonda Sims, the Founder of Freedom Train Animal Transports, who I honestly believe can move 'Mountains' (okay just massive quantities of fubabies in one leap!)  

Dogs Do Deserve much better than Pricess Xena  had, she was dying on the end of a chain.  She was then put down, because she had become aggressive on her chain.   I am chaining this year in her memory, that although we could not save her from the chains, I still have hope that someday we can break the chains for all the others and stop the insanity and cruelty that these chains/pens bring to the dogs.
