Greetings Friends!
It's that time of the year and we are kicking off the triathlon season with our annual fundraiser for the Organization for Autism Research. Once again, Tri for Autism is an official charity program for the Virginia Triathlon Series. The funds go to the Organization of Autism Research which funds various research projects in an attempt to find a cause and develop effective treatments for those affected. Many of you already know the young fellow in the picture as our son Logan. He has autism. We are blessed to be in a place where Logan was diagnosed early and received early intervention that is critical from some very special teachers and therapists. He is now ten years old, is in 3rd grade and is doing great. Not a week goes by that he does not surprise us with his intelligence and wit. The courage he shows continually in overcoming obstacles is inspirational. We thank God every day for our family and for His continued grace in helping us meet each challenge we face. In that spirit, we are embarking on the 2012 race season. Laura, Tyler, and Carson will be participating in three sprint triathlons over the season and may be ramping up to participate in an olympic distance race in early fall. Our team has added a new face this year. Lauri Wynnyk, (aka "the Ringer") is a dear friend who will be participating with us in the Angel's Race Triathlon in April then in September will be heading to Augusta, GA to do the ESI Half Ironman and she'll cap it all off by running the New York Marathon in November.
We value your support for the Organization for Autism Research and invite you to contribute if you feel led to give. Don't give because we've decided to get some exercise-- give because there are a lot of courageous people out there who need treatment and their lives will be forever changed because of your support! Thank you.
