Ty Runs a Marathon
Hello friends!
Thank you all for taking the time to visit my fundraising page. I thought I'd take a minute to explain why I'm raising money in the first place ...
I've been wanting to run a marathon for a long, long time. It's been on my bucket list for a while, and after running a half, I knew it was something that I was capable of doing. I'd find a few here and there that I was interested in, but could never find one to fit my schedule. That was when I found the Boomer Esiason Foundation, which devotes their efforts to heightening awareness, education and quality of life for those affected by cystic fibrosis. Through Team Boomer, the Foundation was offering a chance to run the ING New York Marathon. I filled out the application, had a phone interview and crossed my fingers. By the grace of God, Team Boomer emailed me and told me that I had been placed on the team, and I haven't stopped smiling yet :)
I am so excited to be able to run my first marathon with the Boomer Esiason Foundation for Cystic Fibrosis because the cause is so close to my heart. Two people that I love and care for - my boyfriend and his sister - have CF, so it's much easier for me to think about running a zillion miles if it will help them breathe easier.
If you would like to keep up with my training, please visit my marathon blog at http://www.rantsravesrun.blogspot.com.
Donating through this website is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to support my fundraising efforts. 100% of your donations will go directly to this amazing non-profit organization.
I understand that in this economy, it's hard to part with any extra money. If you cannot make a donation, I just ask that you'll keep me in your thoughts and prayers, and if you see me out running, honk at me and wave! :)
Many, many thanks for your support -- and please don't forget to forward this to anyone who you think might want to donate! In the meantime, I have over 450 training miles to go, so I look forward to your support to get me through those 15-20 mile Sundays!
