We are currently raising funding to help complete the film and to cover expenses to hold screenings in major cities across the United States. Any donation you can give is fully tax deductible and greatly appreciated.
For those who are new to the project. We have been making the documentary film "Unification of Wisdom" for the past 3 years documenting the amazing life of Tz'utujil Mayan elder Tata Pedro Cruz and his journey to share and preserve the Mayan Calendar within his own community and the World. His mission is to spread the Maya's message of love and unity, dispelling the myths surrounding thier culture and to send out the true message of the Mayan prophecies as the sacred Mayan calendar nears the end of its current cycle in 2012.
Background Info: Tata Pedro is far ahead of his time in that he has been working to bring Maya together from all over Guatemala to come together to hold ceremony and to unite with one another from different Maya lineages. Through his vision to unite within his own culture, he is also allowing others from around the world to learn from and participate in the Mayan ceremonies, to bring about a global unity and understanding of one another through the teachings of the Mayan Calendar and maya ceremony.
Tata Pedro and the other Maya whom are featured in the documentary believe the Mayan calendar is something that was created as a guide for all people of the world to navigate time through. They feel that the time is now to share and unite with one another and to let down the borders and walls that humanity has placed around one another through connecting back into sacred time.
Through the film our goal is to carry out the story and vision of Tata Pedro, the Mayan calendar, and to foster a seed of wisdom for future generations to come.
Current Goal: Exciting news and progress! We are currently nearing the end phase of post-production and completing the film!! Now we need your help more than ever to help us get the graphics and animations complete. Your donations will help with this phase of Post so we can then begin our journey to get this out to the world.
Future Goal: Our goal is to give back a portion of the films gross profits to various non-profit organizations and schools to which we have been working with in Guatemala and whom are working to preserve the sacred Mayan calendar and create a sustainable future for the wisdom of the Maya to continue to be taught on a local and global level.
What your support will do now: We have teamed up with a local Media Arts organization here in San Diego which is the current fiscal sponsor of "Unification of Wisdom." So all donations are fully tax deductable. In making this donation you will also be immediatley assisting Media Arts Center San Diego which is dedicated to supporting Latino Film and the Media Arts, for 8% of your donations go directly to Media Arts Center San Diego.
