As a Christian run organization, it's very important that we teach our players a life of service and living outside of themselves by demonstrating courage and serving the needs of others first. That's why Mineral Springs Upward Basketball League is excited to have over 30 coaches join the “Barefoot for Bare Feet” movement.
This program involves coaches, governors, business leaders, teachers, pastors and many more using their platforms by performing their jobs barefoot to provide a voice for the 300,000,000 million children who wake every day in their bare feet.
From across the nation, college, high school, and community coaches are coaching games in their bare feet and influencing university and high school students and faculty to get involved to help make a difference.
Our goal this year is to raise enough money to provide 1,000 pairs of new shoes and socks to impoverished children in North and South Carolina. Our plan in the Summer is to get the entire league serving at a shoe distribution washing the feet of impoversihed children and placing a new pair of shoes and socks on their feet. This will model what Christ did for all of us, loving people compassionately and serving others with dignity and respect. With your help, we will reach our goal.
We need to raise $10,000.
Samaritan’s Feet was started 8 years ago, with a goal to put 10 million pairs of shoes on children’s feet in 10 years around the world. Samaritan’s Feet serves the impoverished in over 62 countries around the world and has placed new shoes on the feet of more than 3.5 million children, but we still have a long way to go to reach our goal.
As more of us stand ‘barefoot’ together, the impact will continue to grow and more children will be given hope.
Will you provide a voice for the 300 million barefoot children around the world?
