Our team is walking and raising money to help find a cure for Huntington's Disease.  It is a genetic brain disorder for which there is currently no cure or effective treatment.  It slowly diminishes the affected individual's ability to walk, think, talk and reason.  Each child of a person with HD has a 50/50 chance of inheriting the fatal gene.  In the USA, HD is as prevalent as Lou Gehrig's Disease (ALS). 

My husband, Mike, recently went out on disability due to Huntington's Disease.  He inherited the disease from his mother.  We want hope for future generations.  That is why we are passionate about helpiing to raise money and awareness.  The researchers are optimistic that a cure is in the future and we need to do our part.

I am looking for team members to join Team Burek as well as sponsors and donations.  The walk will take place on Sunday, Sept. 13 at Montgomery County Community College in Blue Bell, PA.  Walk begins at 10 am with registration at 9 am.  Family Picnic to immediately follow.
