How you can help:
If you are a survivor, or know a survivor of abuse and would like me to share your story to help inspire and empower others, you can send me an email to flutteringdesigns AT gmail.com.
I ask that you please consider sponsoring me and helping survivors worldwide. Sponsoring through this website is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to support my fundraising efforts. Do you think I can stay up for 24 hours blogging? Donate to find out.
Why?
Did you know that 1 in 3 girls and 1 in 6 boys will experience an unwanted sexual act before the age of 18? Please help me fight this epidemic, and help live out the foundation's mission!
I would like to extend an invitation for you to participate in my blog-a-thon. If you are a survivor or you know a survivor of sexual abuse/assault and would like to share your story during my blog-a-thon to inspire others, please email me at flutteringdesigns AT gmail.com. I understand that privacy/safety is a concern for some, and I am more than happy to publish your story anonymously if you prefer.
I’m a proud member of the Army of Angels 2010 Conference Committee, as well as a proud supporter of the Angela Shelton Foundation. The mission of the foundation is to empower and inspire all survivors of abuse to heal and live joyful lives.
The Angela Shelton Foundation was born out of the amazing response from the documentary Searching for Angela Shelton. With the intent of surveying women in America, filmmaker Angela Shelton drove around the country and met other Angela Sheltons. She found that 70% of the 40 Angelas she spoke to had been victims of rape, childhood sexual abuse or domestic violence, herself included.
The Angela Shelton Foundation helps to run and maintain the many projects that they are working on from The Survivor Manual website, to workshops, to providing assistance to worldwide organizations and projects in the arts and media that share their mission of inspiring, empowering and aiding all survivors of sexual abuse and domestic violence.
Your generous donation will allow these important projects to continue to grow, reaching thousands of survivors, inspiring and empowering them to lead a joyful life!
Many thanks for your support -- and don't forget to forward this to anyone who you think might want to donate too!
