Our Story:

Many of you know that Landon has faced many challenges since his extremely premature birth. He was diagnosed with mild Cerebral Palsy at the age of two, and has been working very hard to "catch up" with his peers. Although he has hit a few bumps along the way, for the most part, he has persevered through every curve ball life has ever thrown at him! He is 5 years old now, and a whopping 40 lbs (that's quite a ways from the 1lb 14oz he was at birth!) As he has grown older and developed new passions and talents, it seems there may be one more diagnosis looming on the sidelines. He was recenty evaluated for Autism (for educational purposes) and recieved an "Educational Eligibility for Autism Spectrum Disorder" This is not a medical diagnosis, however there is one in the process. As challenging as these confirmations may seem right now, we know that we have a very rewarding and bright future ahead as we help our little boy meet his full potential. Participating in this walk is our first steps toward that future!

Funds raised through this walk-a-thon will benefit the Autism Community of Oregon, by providing such things as summer camp scholarships to children living with Autism and Respite services for caregivers. The funds raised by the walk also make it possible for the Autism Society of Oregon to put on conferences.
