Hi!
On April 4th, I will be competing in the Lone Star Triathlon (Sprint Distance: .3 mile swim, 12.5 mile bike, 3.1 mile run). This is my first triathlon and I was inspired by my boyfriend Luis and my friend Lisa who have competed before. It's been an incredible challenge- both physically and mentally. I have learned so much and am getting summer ready- which let's be honest- was a huge reason I decided to do this! :) From saving for my first road bike (Chloe), to Tour de Houston, to finally becoming a stronger swimmer, I couldn't be more excited about the race!
Staying in shape is always a great motivation, but I am also training with Team COCI to raise awareness about Cherish our Children International. By sponsoring me you will help make a positive impact with vulnerable children around the globe. COCI is about helping children who can't help themselves. I believe with your support, an even bigger difference can be made with children who need it most! I realize that it is even more difficult to make the decision to support a cause in these economic times, so I truly appreciate the consideration and any amount you can donate!

COCI began its work in 1993 with programs for abandoned, HIV-positive babies and children in Romania, who (prior to intervention of groups like COCI) were doomed to live and die in state homes and hospital units. Since that time, COCI has made a significant difference in the lives of Romanian orphans. It has also spread its support to other countries, including the United States, Bosnia and Serbia. The main focus of COCI is to raise funds that sponsor programs for children in desperate situations. The organization identifies key programs that focus on critical issues such as abandonment, neglect, exploitation, disease and institutionalization. They support the development, sustainability and expansion of these programs through fundraising efforts, training and clinical support.
