Riley Builds a Library in China
I recently had an opportunity to visit China. During my time there, I met many wonderful people who were kind enough to introduce me to their culture and daily life. I also volunteered to teach English in two middle schools. I received another warm welcome: the children were enthusiastic and eager to learn, and the teachers were very friendly and happy to meet me. But, it is difficult for the schools to provide every student with appropriate materials, such as textbooks and paper for doing homework. When each teacher is faced with a class of approximately fifty children, it is hard to maintain order and reach every student.
I was very fortunate to have such an amazing and unique experience. I believe that the world would be a better place if we all had an opportunity to show our generosity and compassion. I would like to raise money to build libraries and provide supplies for others like the children I met.
I reached my first goal, $1500, so quickly, that I am increasing the target! $3600 is enough for four libraries. Thank you so much to everyone who has donated, I am so thrilled by how kind people have been.
