I will be racing in the West Point Triathlon on August 19, 2012 while representing Team Red, White & Blue (Team RWB), a veteran support organization whose mission is to enrich the lives of wounded veterans and their families. Ultimately, we aim to transform the way wounded veterans are reintegrated into society when they return from combat and one of the ways this is achieved is through physical fitness.
While much has improved since the post-Vietnam era, some polarization between veterans and our society still exists today. Strong relationships between wounded veterans and their fellow Americans are critical to veterans’ reintegration into civilian life. More than two million servicemen and women have deployed to Iraq and Afghanistan since 9/11, and almost 600,000 have answered the nation’s call more than once. That’s why Team RWB believes that it’s our time – our turn – to give back.
Team RWB’s community of athletes, advocates and concerned citizens (corporate, non-profit and individual) are all committed to serving those who have served our great nation. Together with wounded veterans and their families and friends, we will develop meaningful, one-on-one relationships that transcend traditional fundraising efforts.
This website is simple, fast and totally secure. Team RWB is a 501(c)(3), not for profit organization and all contributions are tax exempt.
Many thanks for your support -- and don't forget to forward this to anyone who you think might want to donate too!
