| Katelyne was officially diagnosed with NF type I in 2008. At this time |
| she has no complications from this disorder (with God's blessing it will |
| stay that way) but the uncertainty of this condition has us wanting |
|
to fight it now.

| What is NF? NF is a genetic disorder of the nervous system that |
| causes tumors to form on the nerves anywhere in the body at any |
| time. In 50% of the cases, NF is inherited from a parent, the remaining |
|
50% occur as the result of a spontaneous mutation.
|
| NF can cause tumors, cancer, hearing loss, learning disabilities, |
| epilepsy, bone deformities, vision impairment and chronic pain. |
| Sixty percent of people with NF have mild forms but NF is an |
| extremely variable disorder and there is no way to predict who will |
|
have a mild case.
|
